Kano State Fire Service says a 28 year old man has lost his life while swimming at Dorayi, Gwazaye Village in Kumbotso local government area.
The Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi made the disclosure during an interview with Radio Nigeria’s correspondent in kano.
He explained that the fire service recieved a call from Dorayi Babba Police station at 12:27 pm that one Rabi’u Dorayi had drowned in a pond while swimming.
Saminu Yusuf said a rescue team was immediately mobilized to the scene, where the victim was rescued unconscious and later confirmed dead.
In a another development, the state fire service has also suceeded in rescuing two people involved in a road accident.
The Public Relations Officer said a private car conveying one Shuaibu Ibrahim and Shinayi, aged 25 and 17 years, hit a street light, adding that the victims had been conveyed to Murtala Muhammad specialist hospital to recieve medical attention.
He called on residents to always abide by rules and regulations while driving,and also desist from local swimming especially by young and under age children.
