Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has removed about 20,089 pensioners not verified from its payroll in October last year.

The Director, Parastatal Pension Department of PTAD, Mr Kabiru Yusuf stated this while speaking at the biannual delegate conference of Federal Parastatals and Private Pensioners Association of Nigeria (FEPPAN), Railway branch in Ilorin.

Mr Kabiru Yusuf said the exercise had save about N750 million naira monthly Pension for the federal government.

He explained that when the directorate came on board, it paid pension of parastatal workers without database.

According to him, the directorate is currently embarking on mop-up verification exercise of pensioners across the nation.
