Jigawa State Government has sponsored eye cataract surgery for 3000 patients across the 27 local governments in the state.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Badaru Abubakar on New Media, Alhaji Auwalu Danladi Sankara in Dutse, explained that the state government sponsored 100 patients from each of the 30 constituencies as part of effort to improve access to healthcare.

According to him, this is the first phase of the free surgery, while second and the third phase is expected to commence soon.

Beneficiaries

Some of the beneficiaries of the free surgery commended the state government for the gesture.
