Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal

Governors and the Presidency will meet on Thursday, next week, to finalize the framework for implementation of the financial autonomy of legislature and the judiciary at the state level.

Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal disclosed this to newsmen after a delegation of the Governors met with the Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, on the matter.

He said the series of meetings being held, were aim at shifting areas of concern to the Governors.

Governor Tambuwal explained that the Governors had expressed support for financial autonomy of the two arms of government to strengthen the polity and enhance effective checks and balances.

President Buhari last year issued Order 10, to enforce the constitutional clauses granting financial independence to the two arms of government.
