Kaduna State government has signed a memorandum of understanding with an American Company for the distribution of medical commodities in hospitals through the use of drones

Governor Nasiru El-Rufai said the agreement was to build on the state’s investments in primary health care and supply chain transformation in the sector.

He explained that the state had upgraded 255 primary health care and recruited 3000 officers to strengthen the sector.

Malam Elrufai said, the state had also installed Pharmagrade warehouse, run by its health supplies agencies to ease the provision of medicines, consumables and vaccines to its health facilities.

The Governor pointed out that, the company would add value to all the initiatives by building distribution hubs in the state and using drones to deliver medical supplies.

“The agreement would add value to our initiatives to strengthen the capacity of Kaduna State health system. This new emergency drone delivery service is a great solution to deliver vaccines, blood and other lifesaving products instantly when time is of essence. It will help ensure that millions of people in Kaduna State will always get the care they need.”

Malam Nasiru Elrufai Further stated that, the company would be assembling the drones in Kaduna, thereby creating job opportunities in the state.

Also speaking, Senior Vice president of the Company, Daniel Marfo said the company had being investing in years in areas of technology to improve health system across the world.
