Equipment donated to the beneficiaries of the ESPW

14,000 youths are to benefit from the Extended Special Public Works Program ESPW of the Federal Government in Zamfara State.

The State Deputy Governor Alhaji Mahdi Aliyu Gusau stated this during the flag-off of 774,000 Special Public Works Programs in Gusau.

He said government had also introduced Zamfara State Investment Program (ZASIP), with a view to reducing the hardship being faced by the indigenes.

Speaking earlier, the State Chairman, ESPW Selection Committee Alhaji Ahmed Garban Yandi explained that the program would inject over 46 billion naira into the economy of the country.

According to him, the program will provide necessary economic palliatives to 774,000 unemployed youths, adding that those who diligently participate may use the knowledge and skills acquired to become self employed.

Ahmed Garban Yandi further explained that, the benefit and impact of the program would continue to linger in the minds of the citizens of Zamfara state in particular and Nigeria at large.

In an interview, the Zamfara state Coordinator of National Directorate of Employment NDE, Alhaji Abdullahi Yakubu commended efforts of the federal and Zamfara state governments for making the program a reality.

He urged participants to make good use of the equipments given to them adding that the materials were carefully selected and made locally within the country..
