Jigawa state youths and other people recruited under Federal Government 774,000 Job programme are expected to enjoy a total of N1.6 billion within the period of three months.

Governor Badaru Abubakar stated this while speaking during the flag-off of the programme at the Muhammadu Sanusi Durbar Ground in Dutse.

He explained that 27,000 beneficiaries were recruited into the Programme from 27 local government areas.

Alhaji Badaru Abubakar described the programme as another big intervention from President Muhammadu Buhari that was aim at improving welfare and social wellbeing of Nigerians.

Accoding to him, the love, compassion and concern that President Buhari is showing to Nigerian masses through various social security intervention and infrastructural development are unprecedented in the history of Nigeria.

The governor called on the beneficiaries to make best use of the opportunity given to them, by using the money as capital to start up their own business.

In a speech, the Director General, National Directorate of Employment NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fiko emphasied that the Programme was targeted at poverty eradication, job creation, tackling unemployment and cushioning the effect of Covid-19 pandemic through extended public works.

Also speaking, the Emir of Dutse, represented by Galadiman Dutse Alhaji Basiru Muhammadu Sanusi promised to give necessary support for the programme toward achieving the desired goals.
