Zamfara state Universal Basic Education Board has finalized a draft for 2020/2022 medium term Basic education Strategic plan to share with stakeholders the activities of the board.

The Executive Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu Maradun made this known shortly after deliberations on the meeting in Gusau.

Alhaji Aliyu Maradun said the committee urged government to establish more orphanage schools in state to cater for the educational needs of over 25 thousand children whose parents were victims of banditry.

He noted that, the objective of the meeting was to review the performances and weaknesses of basic education, in the outgoing year and also want the state government to reintroduce vocational education, at primary school and junior secondary schools to provide basic skills to pupils.

The Executive Chairman said the committee also resolved to closely monitor teachers posted to rural communities to enhance ducation of the children.
