President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has condemned the killing on Saturday of rice farmers by Boko Haram in Zabarmari in Borno State.

Senator Ahmad Lawan who Made the condemnation in a statement in Abuja, said the incident is another act of babarism against innocent Nigerians minding their own business.

The Senate President condoles with the families of the victims, Government and people of Borno State over the senseless carnage.

According to him, the crime is particularly sad given the ongoing spirited efforts by the Federal Government at ensuring food security in the country through programmes being put in place to support agriculture sector.

He then urged security agencies to redouble efforts with a view to bringing an end to mindless violent crimes in nigeria.

The Senate President maintained that the National Assembly would continue to support the Executive in strengthening security agencies towards improving security of lives and property of Nigerians everywhere.
