Members of the Boko Haram sect have killed 43 farmers in Zamarmari of Jere local government area of Borno state.

The farmers were killed at Kwashabe village, about 20 kilometers north of Maiduguri, Borno capital.

Details of the killing are still rolling in as Nigerians expressed shock over reports saying the farmers throat were slit.

President Muhammadu Buhari also expressed grief over the killing, calling it ‘insane’.

The President said in a statement on Saturday that the entire country was hurt by the senseless killings adding that government had supported armed forces to protect the country’s territory.
