Victims Support Fund Task Force on Covid19 says it is expected to cover 30 states in the country with about 3 billion naira intervention in December this year.

Chairman of the Fund General Theophilus Danjuma retired announced this while presenting the third phase distribution of food items and personal protective equipments to Niger state Governnor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello in Minna.

Represented by the Chairperson of the Fund on Mrs Toyosi Akerele Agunsiyi said this include water projects in fifty four schools across eighteen states and other support to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC.

Others are provision of automatic foot padal hand washing stations as well as medical items among others.

According to her, the cumulative monetary value of the donations to Niger state stood at 107.9 million naira which covers food items, personal protective equipment PPEs to support heath care workers as well as face masks among others.

Recieving the donation, Niger state Governnor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties Alh Ibrahim Egbo thanked them for the laudable gesture which was the first of it’s kind by any Non Governmental Organisation in the history of the state.

He assured that the items would be distributed to the target audience within one week in a transparent manner.

Items to be distributed includes 10kg of rice, beans and maize, 4litres of vegetable oil each to beneficiaries and standard surgical face masks to mention but a few.

Correspondent Aliyu Lawal in Minna reports that a total of two hundred and four thousand three hundred and thirty benefitiaries across Kano Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, Plateau, Benue and agencies in Federal Capital Territory Abuja are to benefit from the gesture.
