The Nigeria Army says it has rescued 2 teenage girls, Killed one bandit and Recovered One AK47 Riffles in Northwest.

This is contained in a Press release sign by the Acting Director, Defence Media Operation Brig. Gen. Benard Onyeuko and made available to Radio Nigeria.

He Explained that, the duo girls were kidnapped at Dan Aji Village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, saying the victims narrated that, their abductors freed them and fled on noticing presence of troops in the area.

Brig. Gen. Onyeuko noted that, On 12th November, 2020 the troops of Operation Sahel Sanity neutralised One Bandit and recovered One AK47 Rifle loaded with 27 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition at Dajin Wuta Forest.

He Said, the troops while on routine Patrol along the fringes of Dajin Wuta Forest, came into contact with bandits on motorcycles, saying, in their attempt to escape from the advancing troops, the terrified bandits ineffectively opened fire and withdrew into forest but the troops gave them a hot pursuit with overwhelming fire power.

However, Brig. Gen. Onyeuko who commended the troops of Operation Sahel Sanity for the successes achieved, said, many of the bandits are believed to have escaped with various degrees of Gunshot wounds as indicated on their escape routes.
