Armed forces Command and Staff College Jaji has played a pivotal role in the discharge of its constitutional roles.

Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin stated this at the commissioning of projects at the college premises in Jaji, Kaduna.

General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin who maintained that over the years, the college had training personnel from selected ministries, departments and agencies, as well as officers from sister and other friendly countries thus the need for provision of requisite infrastructure for learning and well being of both staff and students.

The Defence Chief pointed out that recent infrastructural initiatives in the college was aim at enhancing welfare of both Staff and Students.

According to him”The newly installed IT infrastructure will significantly improve research effort in the college and also expose Staff and Students to the array of information available online in line with best global practices”

“Similarly, the completion of the sports swimming pool and gymnasium will enable staff, students and other residents of the cantonment to exercise regularly to keep fit with attendant positive impact on their physical and mental well-being and productivity” he added

He advocated for the use of innovative and realistic approaches to maintenance of the facilities, and urged beneficiaries on maintenance culture of the infrastructures.

General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin commended College leadership for the initiative and quality of work which according to him, attests to the integrity and commitment towards placing a conducive working environment.

Earlier in a remark, Commandant of the College, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Sadick Liman explained that since its inception in Nineteen Seventy-six, the college had progressively grown through the efforts of past leaderships and Staff to what it is today.

The projects commissioned by the Chief of Defence Staff include the ICT server room, sports complex gymnasium and swimming pool as well as officers’ mess extension.

The Defence Chief was accompanied by serving and retired senior officers.
