Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has signed a supplementary appropriation bill of N42.8bn for the 2020 fiscal year.

Speaking while signing the bill into law at the Government House, Bauchi, on Monday, Mohammed said, “We’re today again making history in collaboration with the House of Assembly and the Government of Bauchi.

“We cannot allow ourselves to be cowed or wowed by the COVID-19, our timelines, milestones must be achieved and we are working as a government to make sure that all the deliverables are being delivered within the timeline.”

He said the administration was paying special attention to the state’s Internal Generated Revenue, which had risen by 300 per cent since assumption in office.

The governor explained that his administration would rely on its internally generated revenue to borrow from the banks as against the usual practice of relying on the federal government allocations.

The appropriation bill is made up of a Capital Expenditure of over N36.8bn and a Recurrent Expenditure of N6bn.

Earlier, in a remark, the Speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman said the speedy passage of the Bill was informed by the performance of government in provision of social services, hence their resolve not to delay
