Nigerian Defence Academy says its resolve to produce quality junior leaders for the country’s Armed forces remains sacrosanct.

The Commandant, Major General Jamil Sarham gave the assurance while briefing newsmen on the forth coming passing out parade of sixty-seven regular course and short service course forty-six at the Academy’s premises Kaduna.

Represented by his deputy, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Takwan Ali, the commandant explained that the outgoing cadets would contribute greatly at the tactical level in tackling contemporary security challenges facing the country.

He disclosed that the passing out parade would be preceded by activities such as regimental dinner in honor of the passing out cadets, prize giving and beating of the retreat ceremony which signifies the official closing of training activities for the year and commandant’s luncheon.

Major General Jamil Sarham maintained that there would be Friday prayer and a Church service to afford cadets and the entire Academy community an avenue for thanksgiving and prayers.

According to him this year’s event shall be slightly different because only one guest will be allowed per cadet in a bid to control the spread of covid-19.

Major General Jamil Sarham reminded the public that entry into NDA premises on the day of POP would strictly be by valid invitation, while those without invitation can equally watch the live streaming of the parade on TV and other social media platforms.

He announced that President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to be the special guest of honor at this year’s passing out parade which is scheduled to hold on the tenth of October.

A total of Seven Hundred and Seventy Nine Officer cadets are expected to pass out from the Academy.
