Zamfara State Government is collaborating  with the Police Command, Nigerian Army and Civil Defence to tackle bandits in Bindin District of Maru Local Government Area of the state.

 Spokesman of the State Police Command, SP Muhammad Shehu who made this known to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital said the joint operational squad has been deployed.

He said the deployment was part of effort to stem the tide of criminal activities especially atrocities committed by the unrepentant bandits who have refused to embrace  peace.
The Spokesman maintained that deployment of the operational team would help to complement existing security in the area.

Meanwhile, the joint squad was unveiled by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Usman Nagogo, and the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General O. M. Bello.
