President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has agreed to delay execution of Executive Order 10 which gives autonomy to State Legislature and Judiciary.

Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman, Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi, stated this in Abuja after a delegation of the Forum met with the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

Dr. Fayemi said the forum had met with President Buhari over issues concerning the Executive Order, during which they gave their support to it but expressed little reservations.

He further said the President showed understanding to some issues raised, and has planned to convene a meeting to address grey areas in the Executive Order.

Dr. Fayemi said the Governors were consulting with the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures to work out an amicable resolution of the matter.
