Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige

President Muhammadu Buhari has mandated the Presidential Committee on Salaries and Wages to review and realign earnings of employees of Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, confirmed the development to newsmen in Abuja.

He was of the view that  the committee would address the rising personnel cost in the budget of the federation.

The Minister said the committee would equally check disparity in payment of salaries and wages as well as prone the running cost of governance.

Senator Ngige maintained that suggestions would be put before the federal government on how to fuse some agencies that were doing the same jobs.

He said the committee would evaluate the role of agencies to ensure that they were structured to perform optimally.
