Nigeria Customs Service NCS has seized 3 trucks load of 140 forty gas cylinders and about 700 bags of NPK fertilizers smuggled into the contry from Niger Republic.

The Comptroller Zone B, Mr Mustapha Sarki-Kebbi who confirmed this to newsmen in Katsina said the vehicles conveying the items were also being seized.

He explained that the seizure were made a week ago along Jibiy-Angangaro road in Jibiya Local Government area of the state.

Sarki-Kebbi said the country’s borders remained closed any goods brought in through the borders would be apprehended.

The Comptroller noted that the arrest was for security and safety reasons, adding that the cylinders intercepted were old and criminals could use them to kill people.
