Supplementary Budget Of N895bn Scales 2nd Reading -Reps

House of Representatives has passed for second reading of a supplementary budget bill 2021 farwarded by President Muhammadu Buhari for it’s approval.

The proposed Bill was read on the floor of the house, estimated to the tune of Eight Hundred and Ninety-Five Billion Naira.

Of the total proposed Bill, over One Hundred and Seventy-three Billion Naira was for recurrent expenditure while over Seven Hundred and Twenty-two Billion Naira was for Contribution to a development fund for Capital Expenditure.

Presenting the supplementary budget bill for debate, Leader of the House Alhassan Ado Doguwa, urged the lawmakers to expedite action in passing the budget.

Alhassan Doguwa stressed that the Supplementary Budget if passed into law would address the emerging needs in the health and security Sectors in relations to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply and the current security challenges.

The Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila reiterated the National Assembly’s commitment to pass the supplementary budget bill before the lawmakers embark on annual recess on July 15th.
