Christians have been urged to partner other religious groups to foster peace and unity in the country.
Kwara Diocesan Bishop, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Rt. Reverend Sunday Adewole made the call while speaking at a news conference heralding the 50th anniversary of the church in Ilorin.
According to him there can be no meaningful development in an atmosphere of rancour and insecurity.
The cleric said his church had organised a number of programmes in collaboration with adherents of other faiths in a deliberate effort to ensure peace in the state.
Reverend Adewole said it is biblical to seek peace where one lives and make it habitable.
The cleric said the church has also been alive to its social responsibility, adding that it has sunk well water for people to have access to potable water, empowered widows with grinding machines and assisted some graduates with 50 percent of money required to purchase motorcycle.
He lamented that the efforts of the church to feed the people of the state through an agricultural scheme was frustrated by kidnappers who invaded their farmlands.
Reverend Adebowale advised the youths to focus more attention on their education as against the lust for cutting corners in an effort to get rich quick.
The cleric appealed to government at all levels and other stakeholders to accord the education sector the priority it deserves to make the nation great.
