Preparation For Census in Top Gear – Kano Federal Commissioner

National Population Commission-NPC says Enumeration Demarcation exercise in all the 44 local government areas of Kano state has been concluded.

The Federal Commissioner of NPC in Kano, Dr. Isma’il Lawal Suleiman stated this during an exclusive interview With Radio Nigeria in Kano.

He said preparations for the forthcoming population census had reached an advanced level with the aim of having a successful Census Exercise.

Dr. Ismail Lawal explained that currently, the commission is conducting the vectorization of roads and buildings geared towards updating Data on all roads and buildings in the state.

He noted that the next step of preparation is pilot census which entails the use of a questionnaire so that various information and Data would be gathered.

The federal Commissioner further explained that the National population Commission was proposing this year for the conduct of the Census, saying soon the federal government would announce the Date of the commencement of the Census.

Dr. Isma’il maintained that a massive enlightenment Campaign would be embarked on by the commission so that the public would be acquainted with the necessary information on how the population exercise would be conducted.

He applauded the cooperation and support given to the Commission by the State and local governments, the five Emirates in Kano, and the general populace, saying that was the reason behind the successful conduct of the Enumeration Demarcation exercise.
