Motorists In Zaria, Environs decry Lingering Fuel Scarcity

Motorists in Zaria and environs, have decried the lingering fuel scarcity being witnessed in the area.

Investigation by Radio Nigeria revealed that only few filling stations are dispensing the premium motor Spirit with hundreds of vehicles sleeping on the queue trying to get the product

It also report’s that many filling stations are not selling the product while the few stations selling especially independent marketers now sell between #280 to #290 per litre.

The situation became worst at the Black markets were the product is being sold at the cost of four hundred naira and above per litre depending the location.

Aminu Ahmed Datti, who is among the motorists interviewed by Radio Nigeria correspondent, said the situation which lasted for almost two months had caused very serious hardship to the masses.

Another motorist, interviewed Falalu Abubakar, expressed displeasure over the fluctuating pump prices and the productive hours motorists used to spend at filling stations on queue.

Some Civil servants and other members of the society also in an interview expressed concerned over the hike in transport fare as the festive period was approaching, calling on the Federal Government to intervene.
