As part of effort at promoting peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders in Niger State a Fulani Socio-cultural group, the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore is to organise a peace summit and maiden fulani cultural festival in the state.
The Chairman of the group in the State, Peace Ambassador Abubakar Dikko Shakallo, made this known while speaking with newsmen in Minna.
Alh Dikko Shakallo explained that the forum which would draw other participants from the Security circle and other tribes is timely as it would address counter accusations of who to blame whenever there is breach of peace.
According to him Niger state Governor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello is expected to declare the fulani cultural festival opened while the National President of the Association Alh Bello Bodejo whose efforts at unifying farmers and pastoralists as well as other tribes remain unshaken will grace the event.
Alh Dikko Shakallo further explained that the Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has welcomed the idea of organising the historic gathering this month.
The Chairman Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Niger State also said the Director General Conflict Resolution Abdullahi Adamu Babayo is also doing everything possible to ensure the success of this all important fiesta.
He appealed to fulani’s that are yet to collect their Permanent Voters card to do so to enable them elect leaders with passion of developing the nation’s economy.
