Governor Abba Kabir Distributes Palliatives to Hospital Patients

Kano state government (KNSG), has initiated the distribution of palliatives to patients on admission to government hospitals across the State.

Kano State Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, who led the distribution of 10 kilograms of rice and 10 kilograms of maize to each patient admitted at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) and Abubakar Imam Urology Centre on behalf of the Governor said the initiative was aimed at providing support.

He explained that 4426 10kg bags of rice and maize were distributed to patients admitted in General and Cottage Hospitals, Pediatric and Specialist Hospitals in Kano.

The Commissioner stated that Governor Yusuf’s administration prioritizes initiatives that directly impact the lives of people in the state, particularly those facing health challenges.

Dantiye explained that he was delighted to see the happiness on the faces of patients who benefited from the palliatives and re-emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the vulnerable, especially during illness.

“Our efforts today represent a collective commitment to standing alongside our fellow citizens during their times of need. By providing essential food items to hospital patients, we aim to alleviate some of the burdens they face and offer them a measure of comfort,”

The Chief Medical Officer, of Infectious Diseases, Dr Johnson Ochibo, said the distribution of palliatives to hospital patients shows Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people of Kano, adding that initiatives like these demonstrate the government’s responsiveness to the evolving needs of its citizens.

During the distribution of the palliatives, the Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of, the Special Duties Cabinet Office, Sunusi Abbas.
