The Director General Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN Dr. Mansur Liman has called for more utilization of reporters for the production of effective and rich news bulletins.
The Dr Mansur Liman made the call at a news summit for Directorate of News of the FRCN held in Bauchi.
Dr. Mansur Liman emphasized on the need to create a conducive atmosphere for reporters and equip them with the needed facilities for effective utilization.
He also charged reporters to avoid filling stale reports and urged editors to always get in touch with their reporters through feedback approach method to motivate them.
The DG also encouraged news departments to have Daily Editorial meetings to review their challenges and explore ways of enhancing news gathering and reporting as well as news summaries.
He reiterated the management’s support for the Directorate of News to be up and doing to sustain the already successes recorded particularly the network news.
Over one hundred staff of the News Directorate from the FM stations, Zonal headquarters from all the 6 geopolitical Zones and the Headquarters attended the Summit.
