CAN Demands Constitution Of Inquiry Over Clash In Maiduguri

Borno State CAN Chairman, Bishop Mohammed Naga at a media briefing in Maiduguri

The Christian Association of Nigeria- CAN Borno State chapter has demanded the constitution of judicial panel of inquiry to investigate the killing and shooting at a Church in Moduganari, Maiduguri metropolis. 

At a media briefing, CAN Chairman, Bishop Mohammed Naga also demanded that a member of Association be included in the panel.

Mr Naga also demanded the rebuilding of churches demolished by Borno Geographic Service- BOGIS.

He requested that all phones seized by officials of BOGIS be returned to their owners, describing the act as an infringement on their rights. 

Bishop Mohammed Naga called on youths and the entire Christian community in the State to remain law abiding and allow themselves to be guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ.

CAN also thanked the citizens of Borno state for their solidarity and concern shown on the unfortunate incident. 

Borno state government had ordered investigation of the unfortunate incident which occurred in a Church at Moduganari which led to the killing of one person while five others sustained injuries following a clash between joint security task force operating with Borno Geographic Information Service and worshippers of the Church.
