Appointment: Kano Assembly Service Commission Confirms Chairman, 9 Others

Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed nominees for the position of chairman and members of the State Assembly service commission forwaded by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The confirmation followed a report presentation by the chairman Commitee on public service Alhaji Hussaini Chedari ‘Yan Gurasa, during plenary session presided over by the speaker Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari.

Presenting the report the Committee Chairman explained that all the 10 nominees were grilled to ensure they were selected based on merit.

He confirmed that all the nominees have scaled through rigorous screening exercise and are qualified to run the affairs of the commission.

The house has adopted the report and confirmed the appointment of Alhaji Nasiru Mu’azu Kiru as chairman and nine others as members of the commission.

In another development, the house has called on the Kano state government to construct a road from Tsamiya to Jajaye to Gidan Mari all in Rogo local government area.

This was sequel to a motion of urgent public importance by a member from Rogo local government area Malam Dahiru Zarewa and seconded by the lawmakers.

The lawmakers argued that construction of the road would alleviate the suffering of motorists and residents especially those travelling to Kwanar Jajaye market which had been the major source of economic development to the state.

The lawmakers equally, called on the state government to construct road from Mai Allo to Yelwa to serve as alternative route due to the construction of road from Wudil to NNPC mega station.

In a motion by member from Bebeji local government Alhaji Abubakar Uba Galadima pointed out that people coming into the state experience traffic congestion due to ongoing road road construction from Wudil to hotoro.

In thier contributions, members from Sumaila and Ajingi local governments emphasized that the wudil to hotoro road is a major network linking Kano with various states and local governments.

The house unanimously adopted both motions and adjourned proceedings till 4th October 2021
