African Champions League: CAF Reschedules Matches

Africa governing football body, Confederation of African Football has rescheduled two matches in the Champions League for twenty eight February ,to be played at neutral venues.

Both ties involve teams from South Africa who were unable to secure the necessary visas to travel due to restrictions imposed because of the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic.

Group B encounter between Algeria’s CR Belouizdad and South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns had been scheduled for Tuesday ,twenty third of February in Algeria but will now be played in Tanzania at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam. .

The other tie to be rearranged in Group C is that of Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca against Kaizer Chiefs, which will now played in Burkina Faso at 4 August Stadium in Ouagadougou.

The match was initially meant to be played on thirteen of February in Morocco.

Both the Burkina Faso and Tanzania football authorities have both given approvals for the matches to be played in their countries.
