2023: 4 Presidential Aspirants Storm Jigawa, Harp On Security, Agriculture

As the deadline for parties’ primary elections is getting closer, ahead of the 2023 general election, several presidential aspirants under different political parties stormed Jigawa state during the week to canvass the support of the state delegates.

Radio Nigeria reports that the aspirants, Gov Fayemi of Ekiti State, Senator Anyim Pious, Senator Amosun, and Senator Bukola Saraki, articulated their blueprints for the improvement of the agricultural sector to fight poverty and generate wealth.

The Presidential aspirants also promised to come up with many initiatives, strategies to tackle security challenges, promote peace unity and progress in the country.

In a speech to the APC delegates, Governor Kayode Fayemi declared that he is a security expert and if given the mandate will use his experience to tackle the security challenges.

Fayemi said he will also invest more for the improvement of agricultural sector for food security and poverty eradication in Nigeria.

During his visit also, Senator Ibikunle Amoson said, he is optimistic that, if the Jigawa arable land could be developed and supported by mechanised agriculture, the state alone can feed Nigeria and the story of poverty will be a history of the past.

“if elected, I will not disappoint Jigawa and Nigerians, I will operate an open and all-inclusive government to make Nigeria a happy and prosperous society” Senator Amoson explained.

Similarly, While Speaking to Jigawa state People’s Democratic PDP delegates, the party presidential aspirant, Senator Anyim Pious Anyim campaign that if elected, he would develope Hadejia Jama’are Irrigation scheme and other Fadama areas to make Jigawa one of the major food baskets of Nigeria.

He said Dutse Airport would be converted into a Cargo Airport where meat, livestock, and other agricultural produce can be exported to other parts of the world,

 ” You have the potentiality and I promise to develop it to reality” Anyim declared.

Also, Senator Bukola Saraki urged the Jigawa state PDP delegates to vote for him during their party primary election, as he had a comprehensive plan for the country’s social and economic development.

“Every state has specific area of economic comparative advantage, and I will develop it for our maximum benefits, Jigawa has vast fertile land, I will promote the use of  science and technology among the Jigawa and Nigerian farmers for the increase of yield profits and strengthen the country food security ” Saraki explained.
