Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has declared tomorrow the 22nd of February 2023 as the first day of Sha’ aban 1444 After Hijira , Islamic calendar.
This is in a statement signed by the chairman advisory committee on religious affairs Sultanate council, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu
The statement says today being the 21st of February, equivalent to 30th Rajab 1444 AH, the committee didn’t receive any Report from the various Moon sighting committees across the country confirming the sighting of the crescent month of Sha’ aban on Monday the 20th February 2023, equivalent to 29th Rajab 1444 AH .
It added that the Sultan has accepted the report and accordingly declared tomorrow as the first day of the new moon.
