CITAD Organizes Workshop On Turning Technology Into Business Ideas

The Center for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), has organized a two-day workshop on transforming technological ideas into business for youths in Kano.

According to CITAD, in a world of advanced civilization, the existence of tech startups cannot be underrated as long as there are technological products or services available in the market, tech startups must exist.

In his remarks, the technical officer of the Center, Engineer Kamaludeen Umar pointed out that, the workshop was a technology hub, that paved way for youths to showcase their talents and turn it into reality.

He noted that, the use of information technology ideas for mitigating societal problems needs proper utilization of innovations.

The technical officer highlighted that, technology is taking part of the modern world, in the areas of health, education, agriculture, and all relevant sectors, saying that CITAD has brought together youths to support them on information and communication technology.

Engineer Kamaludeen noted that, 20 participants were invited for the first phase, and more would be brought on board, as it is a continuous process, where those with exceptional technology ideas, would be trained , guided and supported on how to apply receive grants.

“Recently the crisis on cashless policy would have been easier if there were financial solutions like the e -wallet, and other financial innovations and other ideas on societal problems “.

He stressed that, the center scrutinized and invited those that have ideas without technical skills, and merged them together with technicians to achieve the desired objectives.

Presenting a paper titled: climate change, Abdurrahman Babatunde exhibited a smart food security system, and a modern farming monitoring drone by a 17 year old participant ILiyasu A. Alkasim.

The workshop tagged : 2-day workshop on transforming technology ideas into business: is marked by paper presentations, round table discussion, group discussion as well as interactive session where participants brain stormed on information technology ideas to move the society forward.
