CTA Sensitizes Stakeholders On Peaceful Elections

Nigerians have been urged to make judicious use of their PVCs by voting for credible leaders who will change the narratives of the nation to greater heights.

The Executive Director, Center for Transparency Advocacy (CTA) Faith Nwadishi stated this during Northwest stakeholder’s meeting on 2023 General Elections held in Kano.

She said the objectives of the stakeholder’s meeting were to ensure that lives and properties were being protected during and after the elections.

Faith Nwadishi noted that the meeting would play a vital role in sensitizing the general public on the effects of hate speech and fake news so that the forthcoming elections would be free, fair and violence free.

” We are going around the six geo-political zones in the country to have an interaction with citizens, and get the stakeholders especially the officials of INEC, police, and NURTW, to ensure that lives and properties are protected, and give factual information concerning the election to the electorates”.

The Executive Director urged the Electorates to shun Money politics and political thuggery geared towards having peaceful Conduct of the Elections.

In a remark, the Executive Director of the Dispute Resolution and Development initiative formally known as Democratic Action Group(DAG) who doubles as the Coordinator of CAT in Kano, Dr. Mohammed Mustapha said the sensitization was part of the corporate responsibility, aimed at achieving the set objectives.

He said the meeting would fine-tune modalities of having a dialogue between all stakeholders more networks would be coordinated to observe the forthcoming elections.

Ambassador Gidodo Furfur and Jamila Yakubu were coordinators of CTA in Katsina and Kaduna States, they said the training would play a vital role in enhancing their capacity on how to sensitize all stakeholders to have peaceful conduct of the general elections.

The Stakeholder’s meeting attracted participants from the seven states of the Northwest Geo-Political Zone.
