Disobedience To Rule Of Law, Major Catalyst To Corruption -ADC Governorship Candidate

The Kano state governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, has identified disobedience to the rule of law as major catalyst to corruption.

Sheikh Ibrahim made the assertion, during a dialogue organized by Kano Correspondents Chapel, Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).

According to him, corruption and other problems emerged from disobedience to law and order which hinders development and progress.

Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil stressed that if elected, his administration would ensure rule of law, environment, health, education and economic development.

“If people obey law and order most of our problems will be solved including corruption”.

He highlighted that, consultation, facilitating, providing opportunities, and motivating people, would go a long way in paving way for leaders to discharge their constitutional duties effectively.

The ADC governorship candidate maintained that, if given the opportunity to serve, Kano state would enjoy dividends of through good governance,cooperation and dedication.

Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil stressed that, he is not afraid of any politician in the state,saying that he is the best candidate to rule kano due to the past mistakes of some former governors.

He explained that, the said power of past governors, who were seen to be having strong grassroot network, have since displayed their weaknesses to the public, and there is no reason to be afraid of them in the political arena.

He also dismissed allegations that he is supporting the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ADC governorship candidate pointed out that, he is not supporting any presidential candidate for now, until the court passes judgement on the case involving their own party presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachukwu.

Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil further explained that, if the court decides in favour of the presidential candidate they will support him, and if the court declares that the party has no presidential candidate, they will then decide who to support among the other presidential candidates.
