FG Committed To Improved Freight Forwarding – Minister

Federal government has reaffirmed its determination in improving freight forwarding activities in the country.

Minister of state for Transportation Ademola Adegoroye stated during the commissioning of Council for the Regulation of Freight forwarding in Nigeria, Kano Zonal Office.

He said the present administration has done a lot for the development of freight forwarding in the country.

Mr. Ademola Adegoroye noted that the Kano State Zonal Office was the first inaugurated by the ministry geared towards enhancing the economy of the nation.

On her part , the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry ,Mrs Magdalene N .Ajani said with the increase of globalization, human and cargo movements to large distance by sea or land, it has become necessary for the development and engagement of freight forwarders in different destination of the country.

She maintained that the Council was established in 2007 to improve the freight forwarding and ensure the competency of professional forwarders.

Earlier, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State represented by the Special Adviser, State Affairs Murtala Ado Dandawaki said the establishment of Kano Zonal Office of Council for the Regulation Freight Forwarding in Nigeria was very timely geared towards boosting the nation’s economy.

In a remark, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer CRFFN Sam Nwakohu said the Zonal Office was first built in Kano to cater for the northern parts of the country, stressing that more offices would be established in Sokoto , Enugu and other states of the country.

The Director, Regulations and Enforcement Mrs Uromta Chinyere thanked all stakeholders for gracing the occasion , adding that the new zonal office was a great achievement in the history of the ministry.

Abdullahi Jalaluddeen
