FG, World Bank Collaboration Enhances Effective Skills Acquisition

Federal government and the World Bank have collaborated in developing innovation and effectiveness in the acquisition of skills project.

The Deputy Director of Technology and Science Education Federal Ministry of Education Mrs. Gbemisola Olaniyon stated this during a workshop on innovation development and effectiveness in the acquisition skills project held In Kano.

She said the workshop aimed to fine-tune modalities of enhancing technical and vocational educational training , to enable youths acquire necessary skills geared toward becoming self-reliant.

The deputy director noted that the initiative is an intervention from the World Bank to assist the ministry in handling and reviving technical and vocational education to achieve the objectives of the program.

“the world bank is assisting Nigeria to ensure that our technical colleges were put on the right path so that there will be a revitalization of everything about skills acquisition and vocational education “

Mrs. Gbemisola Olaniyon maintained that the program would help the youth to be employed in industries, and also to be self-reliant.

In his remarks, former President of Kano Chambers of Commerce ,Industry ,Mines and Agriculture Alhaji Umar Rabiu Dansuleka applauded the foresight of the federal government and the World Bank in initiating the program.

He appealed to the participants to explore their wealth of experience in sharing their ideas and innovations geared toward achieving success.
