INEC Sends Over 360,000 Permanent Voters Card To Plateau State

Over three hundred and sixty Thousand Permanent Voters Card have been recieved by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Plateau State.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr Terso Agundu, who gave the figure while interacting with the Media in Jos, said the PVCs will be devolved to over eight hundred and eighty Registration Areas in the State by this weekend.

He said the Commision will also receive it’s Bimodal Voter Accreditation System BVAS before the end of the week, describing the system as the most critical component of the electoral
system.

Dr Agundu assured that he and his team will deliver the most credible and transparent election in the history of the state, anchored on accountability, level playing ground and impartially and called for the cooperation of the media in this r
Regard.

The State REC said to guard against fake news and rumors during the exercise, the state office is working towards establishing a situation room and public engagement forum, where hotlines will be made available to the public as well as social media handles for inquiries through calls and messages.

He called on the Political Parties and their candidates to get aquatinted with the provisions of the act to avoid unnecessary litigations and electoral offences.
