Zamfara State Police Command has rescued a 75 years old man named Mahammadu Sheshi, a native of Enagi in Edati local government area of Niger State.
This is contained in a statement to newsmen in Gusau by the Command’s public relations officer SP Muhammad Shehu.
The rescue operation was conducted following the receipt of the intelligence report regarding the abduction of the victim.
It says In the course of debriefing, the victim informed the Police that he was abducted in early October 2022 by a large number of armed bandits who blocked Birnin Gwari – Kaduna road and took others into the bush somewhere in the Dansadau axis of Zamfara state.
And that he spent two (2) months in captivity.
The statement adds that the victim while at the Command Headquarters, Gusau was medically checked at the Police clinic facility and later reunited with his family and relations.
The Commissioner of Police CP Kolo Yusuf also congratulates the rescued victim for regaining freedom and assures the Police of continuous commitment to protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
