NGO Administers Free Medical Intervention To Kaduna Community

A Non Governmental Organization, New Day Empowerment and Development Foundation has administered free medical services to over four hundred residents of Down quarters, Station market area , in Kaduna South local government area.

Coordinator of the NGO Mrs. Grace Jessica Daniels said the gesture was meant to give back to the society and help those that cannot afford immediate medical care.

” I grew up in this area and so I understand the challenges people in this area go through, most hospitals around here are privates and are expensive” , she said.

“we have medical personnels here that will check your sugar level, blood pressure, and we shall give medication for children with malaria and other related ailments”.

Some of the residents who spoke to newsmen thanked the NGO , and said the gesture was the best gift they have received this year.

“so many of us here have one ailment or the other but no money to buy drugs or even go for check up ,as we are a poor community who do not have the resources mostly to go to the hospital ”, Mrs Grace a resident said.

Another resident Halima Abubakar, a mother of seven children appreciated the NGO for wiping her tears by treating two of her daughters who got infected with malaria parasite.

Hajiya Halima Abubakar called on the government to reintroduce the monthly routine sanitation to enhance a healthy environment.

Also speaking, a medical doctor with at the ground of the outreach Ezra Moses, urged parents to pay close attention to the health of their children, adding that malaria, dehydration and diabetes are preventable when given prompt attention.

“If we prevent the bites of mosquitoes by sleeping under the nets and do regular check up of our sugar and blood pressure levels , eating right and regular exercise we can be saved from all these diseases”

Residents of Down Quarters Kaduna South and its environs turned out in their large numbers and were given various medical intervention.
