Prioritize Humanitarian Programmes – Emir Of Zazzau To Religious Bodies

Emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli has called on religious bodies to accord priority to humanitarian programmes as a step towards seeking Allah’s intervention on the challenges affecting the country.

He gave the advice while receiving the executives of the Association of Zakat and Waqf Operators in Nigeria on a courtesy visit to his palace, in Zaria.

Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, who expressed displeasure over the attitude of some wealthy individuals especially on giving out Zakat and supporting the less privileged in society said that alone can never allow the nation to move in the right direction.

The Emir lauded the commitment of the Association of Zakat and Waqf Operators in Nigeria to improve the welfare of the common man and reminded them of the need to create awareness on the importance of giving out Zakat and the consequences of denying it in the hereafter.

He also confirmed that the Emirate was currently working in collaboration with Islamic scholars on how to form a standing committee on the Zakat collection to ensure thousands of people from different parts of the Zazzau benefit.

Earlier, the Chairman Association of Zakat and Waqf Operators in Nigeria, Kaduna State chapter Alh Abdullahi Salisu, told the Emir that they were at his place to brief him about the Association’s National summit coming up this Saturday and seek his blessing.

Alh Abdullahi Salisu, maintained that in two years of it’s inception the Association has disbursed about twenty million naira to three hundred poor and needy in Kaduna State and plans were on to extend the number in the nearest Future.

The Chairman further appreciated the support and cooperation of the Emir to the Association which he said had contributed immensely to the successes recorded in discharging their operations.
