NIESV Advocates Periodic Training For Professional Development

The Profession of Estate Surveying and Valuation is the art, science and practice of acquiring, managing and developing estates including facilities and other business concerns.

The Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers as a voluntary professional organization has the mandate to cater for the interest of the profession to ensure professional excellence in the country.

The institute attaches great importance to the education of its members with emphasis on practical training and mandatory continuing professional development, MCPD.

It is against this backdrop that the Kaduna branch of the institute during the 2022 mandatory continuing professional development seminar, expressed determination to build the capacity of its members via training for effective service delivery.

In an address, the state chairman of the institute Abdulkareem Sule Obaito explained that, the seminar was designed to aid and facilitate training and retraining of members with a view to creating awareness and enlightenment to promote real estate activities among individuals, organizations and institutions.

According to Obaito, the seminar with the theme “urban renewal program in kaduna state, gains and pains” became imperative following the strong political will exhibited by Governor Nasir El’rufai led administration to strategically implement the city master plan.

He said, the program was intended to showcase the cost-benefit of the implementation process toward ensuring effective urban renewal and safer environment for all in the state.

In a remarks, Chairman National Continuing Development, Mr. Emmanuel Mark said as professionals in a changing world, it was necessary for them to continue to update their professional knowledge for sustainable development of the country.

He pointed out at the mandatory continuing professional development program, the need for periodic renewal of professional certificate of practice by members was emphasized.

To further buttress more on the value of the profession and latest happenings in the world of estate surveying and valuation, papers were presented by resource persons as well as discussions questions and answers.
