Kwara Residents Urged To Support Health Initiatives

Residents of Kwara state have been urged to support the state government initiative in the health sector to improve health care services in the state.

The State Coordinator for the Challenges of Malaria in Nigeria (ACOMIN) Mr Femi Olatunbosun made the call during a media meeting on the Global Fund Malaria Community-led Monitoring Project Implementation held in Ilorin.

He expressed satisfaction with the state government efforts in ensuring quality service delivery in health sector.

Mr Olatunbosun explained that the state government has done its part in renovation of some health facilities and procurement of malaria drugs across the state.

He noted that the commitment of the Community in improving the facilities is very paramount to take full ownership of quality health care service delivery.

Mr Olatunbosun appreciated other partners for their contribution in improving the standard of quality health service.

In her speech , the Programme Manager State Malaria Elimination Program Alhaja Raji Nimota commended all international and local partners for their active support to health care services in Kwara state.

In his remark , the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) representative Dr. Nickson Hyeladendu commended the commitment of the state government for the prompt payment of counterpart fund for malaria programme.

Addressing the participants at the meeting, State Programme Officer Mrs Folake Osheyemi urged the community to take charge of the renovation of the facilities in their environment to complement government efforts in improving health care delivery.

In his response the Magagi of Tanke Alhaji Shaheed Oladimeji, thanked the state government and other partners for their efforts in supporting good and quality health care delivery accross the state.
