KNHA Passes Disabilities Amendment, Supplementary Appropriation Bills 2022

Kano State House of Assembly has passed the Kano State Persons with Disabilities (amendment no. 2) law 2022.

During plenary session presided over by the Speaker Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, Majority Leader of the house Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari moved the motion for the house to convert to committee to deliberate on persons with disabilities law and one other law.

The passage of the law was sequel to the adoption of the report in respect of the law as well deliberations in the committee of the whole house in addition to the 3rd reading of the law by the clerk Alhaji Garba Bako Gezawa.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after plenary, Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari explained that the passage of persons with disabilities law would pave way for more inclusion of PWDs such as the allocation of two percent of employment of opportunities to the group.

Similarly the house has passed the Kano state proposed supplementary appropriation bill 2022.

Earlier, KNHA has adopted the report of the house standing on appropriation in respect of the 2022 proposed supplementary appropriation bill, and later committed the bill to committee of the whole house before the bill scaled third reading.

With the passage of over 55 billion naira 2022 supplementary budget, the total budget for 2022 financial year stood at over 276 billion naira.

The house had also sent out an invitation to ministries and departments to come forward and defend their 2023 proposed budget commencing from Monday 21st November 2022.

The house adjourned its sitting to Monday 19th December 2022.
