KNHA Passes Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital Bill 2022

Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA), has passed Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital Bill 2022

This was sequel to deliberations in the committee of the whole house during today’s plenary session presided over by the speaker, Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, in a motion filed by the majority leader, Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari.

Furthermore, the lawmakers supported the bill, after scaling the third reading by the clerk Alhaji Garba Bako Gezawa, and subsequently adopted the report and passed the bill for the establishment of Muhammad Abdullahi Wase teaching hospital.

Similarly, KNHA has adopted the report of the house standing committee on higher education in respect of Sa’adatu Rimi University Bill, 2022.

Presenting the report, chairman of the committee on higher education, Alhaji Ali Ibrahim Isah Shanono noted that the bill had scaled the required stages, and committed to their committee for necessary legislative action.

He however highlighted that, upgrading the institution would go a long way in paving way for educational development, and serve as a means of producing graduates and professional teachers.

The chairman said,the institute shall continue NCE programs for another five years due to the present NCE students admitted to the college before the upgrade.

Lawmakers representing Ungoggo, Sumaila and Rimin Gado/Tofa, Aminu Sa’adu Ungoggo, Muhammad Bello Butu Butu and Hamza Zubairu Massu supported, and observed certain issues regarding the report, before being adopted by the house.

In another development,the house has mandated its house standing committee on emergency and relief to visit Takai and Singa markets affected by fire outbreak.

This followed a motion of urgent public importance, filed by member representing Takai constituency Dr. Musa Ali Kachako, calling on the state government to assist victims of fire disaster in Takai local government area.

After careful deliberations, the house adopted the motion and mandated its house committee on emergency and relief, to visit the two markets and report back for further legislative action.

The house adjourned its sitting to the next day in a motion filed by the majority leader Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari.
