School Celebrates 82 Year Anniversary In Kaduna

Former students of First Public School, LEA Primary School Tudun Wada Kaduna established in 1940 have celebrated its 82 years of existence with a call on government to ensure that education is given its place of priority in decision making and policy implementation.

Chairman of the Old Boys Association of the School, Dr. Ibrahim Umar made the call at the celebration in Tudun wada Kaduna.

He said the quality of education in the country has dropped drastically because of subsequent government failures to fulfill all demands required to maintain educational standards.

Dr. Ibrahim Umar who appreciated government’s school feeding programme especially in Northern Nigeria , appealed to various states government to collaborate with stakeholders while recruiting teachers and listen to their input for progress of education in the country.

He said the Association has brought so much interventions to the school including construction of fence for security in the school and several other infrastructural needs of the school.

In a presentation on menace of street begging, Dr. Asma’u Abdulkadir said children who engaged in such acts often evolve to criminal activities and can easily be used for thuggery .

He called on government to urgently take steps to stop street begging.

Former Senator Shehu Sani in his address, said it will be difficult for education to make significant progress in Nigeria unless children of political office holders and the wealthy in the society are enrolled into public schools.
