Assemblies Of God Church Seeks Increased Intercessory Prayers For Nigeria

The Saminaka District Superintendent of Assemblies of God church Reverend Haruna Tutu has called on Nigerians to pray for God’s intervention toward overcoming the nation’s challenges.

Rev. Haruna Tutu made the call at the close of a three-day annual prayer convention at Evangel camp ground, Saminaka, Kaduna state.

He explained that, the Bethel Covenant Prayer Convention was aimed at uplifting the spiritual life of members and Nigerians.

Rev. Tutu who centred his sermon on the theme “Hear the Cry of My Heart” said, there was no challenge that cannot be addressed if adequate prayer is offered to God.

According to the clergyman, even in the midst of Socio-economic and political challenges confronting the country, God was still in control.

“We’ve organized this program for spiritual enrichment of both members and the public, it’s also an avenue to pray and intercede for our dear lere Loca Governmen, the state and the country over the challenges confronting her”.

“And with the situation in our country, our youths need to be prayed for, so that God will empower them, we are looking forward to the forth generation, and if our youths today are not finding it easy, what will become of the next generation, we know that prayer can change everything”.

“Because of the challenges confronting us in this country, we have the security, and individual challenges and there are people who are crying, they are crying internally and you dont even Know, so God let this theme in my heart so that we can jointly pray and cry unto God and tell him hear the cry of our heart, so this is the reason why this theme was designed for this convention”, said Rev. Tutu.

Haruna Tutu noted that next year’s general elections present a unique opportunity for Nigerians to elect political candidates who have the fear of God and the capacity to unite the country.

He admonished leaders to be steadfast in discharging their duties to promote growth and development of Nigeria.

“We are facing a time of decision, we are about to make a decision for the future of this country, and that of the forth coming generation”.

“The 2023 election is very significant, it is very important even to the children yet unborn, and that we are calling on the politicians that, as we are praying and asking God to raise us leaders who are trustworthy, that would bring peace and unity”.

“We are also calling upon as many that would want to vote, to vote for leaders who are willing to sacrifice both their lives and resources, not leaders who are coming to enrich themselves, and Allow the poor masses to languish in poverty”.

“And as I pray today, any man and woman who is aspiring for any Political office in this country who is not ready to unite, develop and bring peace to this country, God should not give them that position”.

“But as many who are out to give peace, progress, justice, fairness and tranquility in this nation, God should install them for Nigeria, God will restore the fortune of this country, if we all stand and be very careful of what we do,” he added.

Guest speaker at the convention, Reverend Dr. Friday Amirah from Delta State who spoke on battle for spiritual survival and operating in the supernatural realm expressed optimism that the program would bring the desired results in the lives of participants.

The annual prayer convention had in attendance top politicians, traditional and religious leaders, as well as guest speakers from within and outside the country.
