Zamfara State : Police Repel Bandits, Rescue 4 Abductees

Kidnapped victims rescued by the Zamfara State Police Command

The ongoing commitment of the Police and other security agencies to fight insecurity in Zamfara state is yielding positive results.

Zamfara State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer SP Muhammad Shehu disclosed this in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau.

He said the Command received an intelligence report on bandit’s blan to attack some villages in Bukkuyum, Tsafe, Bungudu, Gusau and Maru local government areas , but Police Tactical Operatives in conjunction with vigilantes repelled the planned attacks.

In a similar development, the collaborative effort of the Police and vigilante led to the rescue of four kidnapped victims, including a one year old baby.

In the course of debriefing, the victims informed the Police that, On 14th October, 2022, bandits in their large number invaded Kuraje village in Gusau LGA and abducted four of them to Munhaye forest in Tsafe where they spent fifteen days in captivity.

The victims were taken to Police clinic for medical check and later reunited with their families.

The Commissioner of Police while reassuring the public on the command’s commitment toward restoring peace and security in the state, congratulates the victims for regaining their freedom and urges all and sundry to be security conscious.
