Taraba PASAN Threaten Indefinite Strike Over Unpaid Allowances

Taraba State House of Assembly Staff Threatens To Embark On Strike

Following the expiration of the twenty one days ultimatum issued to the leadership of Taraba State House of Assembly by the Staff of the house, they have again issued a strike alert with a seven day ultimatum to the state Governor, Darius Ishaku to settle their seven years unpaid outfit allowances.

The staff made their position known through the leadership of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Taraba state chapter.

In a letter dated 26th, Oct. 2022, signed by the Chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Yusuf, and the Secretary, Comrade Yahuda Atwen respectively, they also threatened a showdown before embarking on an indefinite strike if the state government failed to comply with their rightful demands.

According to the letter, the 21 Days ultimatum earlier issued to the leadership of the Taraba state house of Assembly did not yield a better result, hence the warning alert.

They explained that since the leadership of the assembly proved to be helpless on the issue, it became imperative for the leadership of the union to issue another
seven (7) Days ultimatum with effect from 26th of October 2022 to the governor to have their demands satisfied, or embark on an indefinite strike.

The development is happening barely one week when the state assembly approved another N5.5b loan for governor Darius Ishaku, leading to pensioners in the state to embark on a mass protest over their unpaid entitlements for ten years.
