Niger: Contractors That Executes Shady Jobs Will Be Blacklisted – Chairman

Any contractor handling the one hundred and eighty projects spread across the twenty five local government councils of Niger state that fail to execute them according to specifications will be revoked and blacklisted.

Chairman Niger State Universal Basic Education Board Alhaji Saidu Ibrahim who stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna insisted that time for poor contract execution in the state is over.

Alhaji Saidu Ibrahim said the one hundred and eighty ongoing projects at various level of completion in schools in Niger state by the Universal Basic Education Board includes construction and renovation of classrooms toilets boreholes as well fencing of some schools among others.

He emphasised that Niger state government under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has lived to its expectation by providing its counterpart funding as and when do since inception stressing that they will not allow any contractor to rubish that reputation through execution of shoddy jobs. 

Alh Saidu Ibrahim however appealed to Nigerlites especially parents to take ownership of all projects under construction in their locality by way of asking questions to the contractors to ensure that only standard projects that are in conformity with agreed specifications were executed in their area.

He reminded them that for the education for all to succeed there is the need for collective efforts by all and sundry stressing that they will work relentlessly towards ensuring that the right thing is done in Niger state for its children who are future leaders to benefit.

The Niger state SUBEB Chairman read a riot act against the board staff especially the technical officers whom he alleged to have compromised to desist as it will not be business as usual hence they should prepared to face the wrath of the law if found wanting in future.
