Kwara Polytechnic To Improve Student’s Entrepreneurial Skills

Kwara state Polytechnic Ilorin says it has put in place measures to ensure students are trained in practical skills to make them self reliant.

The Rector of the Polytechnic , Dr. Abdul Jimoh made the disclosure while addressing Newsmen on the occasion of the 28th convocation ceremony of the institution, held at the permanent site on old Jebba road in Ilorin.

He said efforts are being made towards ensuring that the students after graduation becomes employers of labour rather than job seekers.

Dr. Jimoh explained that the institution have employed the services of government and private engineering firms to train the students on how to maintain heavy duty equipment for the benefit of the state and the country.

He said the institution has also secured accreditation for Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication and other courses to enable students pursue their academic carrier without any hitch.

The Rector noted that the institution currently run a total of fifty six programmes.

He said the management has put in place arrangements to ensure abandoned projects are completed and put to use adequately.

Dr.Jimoh maintained that the institution will continue to give workers welfare the necessary attention required as well as provide facilities to improve teaching and learning.
